This is my brother, Willy, holding my parents’ first grandchild. William (Liam) Aaron McCartney was born to William & Erin McCartney on August 19 (my parents’ 37th anniversary) at 6:22 pm. He weighed 7 lbs, 8 oz and is cute as a button. According to my brother, he smells like baked goods.
I’m pretty bummed that I can’t meet him. I’m not sure when we’ll be able to afford to fly to Omaha so I have no idea when we can meet him. That sucks. He’s my first nephew (John’s sister Kim had sweet Amelia who you may remember) and I am in love with the idea of seeing my brother being a father. None of my other siblings have kids and I can imagine that’s one of the coolest things to see. John has had the opportunity to see that with his sister---but I think there’s something different about seeing someone you watched grow up and play with micro machines now care for his own child. I hope I get to see it soon.
