My friend Ashley asked me to write a blog post about how Jack was doing. Here I asked you guys all to pray for him for so long and then I don’t even update you with his progress. I’m a mean, mean person. Huh? Well let me tell you…those prayers churned out a mighty happy boy:
Let’s see here…the last update was a few months ago when we switched him onto Neocate prescription formula and upped his Prevacid dose. It took a few weeks but the GERD got pretty under control. I think all the crying taught him that we would cuddle the heck out of him though so he was a pretty big fussfest there for awhile. Another contributing factor to the fussiness? He started teething at not even 4 months and got two teeth within a week!![]()
Now, he is almost always happy (so long as it’s daytime).
He gets to be a HUGE fussfest around 7:30 every night. He knows that’s bath time and the kid LOVES his bath time.
I know it doesn’t look like he’s having much fun, but trust me. He can be screaming like a crazy man and the moment we put him in his tub, he’s totally chill. He sits there and splashes like crazy and has a gay old time!
He had his first play date:
Tried rice cereal (and, after a little scare, learned that he was NOT allergic to it):
Discovered his feet:
Hung out with his cousin who now lives in San Antonio:
Learned that there is another baby on the planet as cute as he is:
And spent most of his time laughing and giggling. He has started sleeping MUCH better (after waking up 6 times a night up until just last weekend). He is amazing and we are so blessed and grateful to have him as part of our lives. For all of you who prayed for him, THANK YOU! He still has rough feedings a few times a week but they are nothing, and I mean NOTHING like they used to be. We’ll be careful as we begin introducing more food and testing the waters with his food allergies. When he got his four month shots, he screamed so loud and in so much pain. It was actually kind of a relief to hear that cry knowing that it was a one-time thing and that we wouldn’t be hearing it again later in the day when we went to feed him. Thank you to everyone who helped put this little boy in the spirit he is now. We adore him and love watching him learn and explore the world around him and we are so very happy that he doesn’t have to go through that anymore.
