This past weekend the Campbell casa was in for a treat: two friends from law school were coming to visit! To say Molly and I were excited is an understatement. Even though we hadn’t seen Jessica and Britton in forever, we knew it was going to be just like old times. And it was. It’s hard to fully explain the fabulous time we all had together this past weekend. I could tell the story of how Britton can’t be tamed or I could throw words out there like “waterlogged” and “bridal suite,” or I could tell you how Molly thinks my college fight song talks about a cow’s utter and a worm’s silk, or if I could read this post to you using my very best accents…yet I don’t think I can adequately convey the hilarity; the fun; the crazy. Maybe this weekend was one of those “you had to be there”-type things. But know this, good friends are hard to come by – you know, those friends you can truly be yourself with; those friends who don’t judge, only care; those friends who celebrate your achievements and share in the not-so-successful endeavors; those friends who you can get together with after a significant time apart, and it’s like no time at all had passed. If you have some good friends like the ones I spent the past weekend with, I encourage you to reconnect, or get together, or just call a sista (or brotha). I bet you will be glad you did.
NOW! Onto reliving the weekend!
Right after Britton and Jessica landed, the first item of business was getting food. Isn’t that everyone’s first item of business? No? Just us? Hm. Well…anyway…
We grabbed some fabulous burgers and then topped them off with Gigi’s cupcakes (I’ve been dying to try this place partly because hey, it’s clearly named after me per Jack and it did not disappoint. Gigi’s was a-maz-ing):
Then we headed home to catch up, do some more good eatin,’ and veg:
Then I schooled nearly beat everyone in Apples to Apples:
On Saturday we originally planned to hit up SeaWorld, but since it decided to be 108 degrees outside (seriously, Texas. SERIOUSLY), we ended up going swimming instead. A much better idea. This resulted in me kicking some booty in water volleyball. Hm…I am we are sounding like the competitive types, aren’t we?
P.S. who else thinks it’s ridiculous that Jessica (aka tan goddess) looks more like a Texan than I do (aka pasty pale ghost of a being)?!
Then we cleaned up for a night on the town! First up: dinner on the Riverwalk:
Then Howl. At. The. Moon!
John grabbed the camera for some candids, and candid, they were:
Believe me, there were many more of “candid” nature, but not safe for blogger viewing. Thanks, John!
Take a look at this next set…notice any similar hand gestures characteristics?

People, we’re lawyers. It’s in our nature to point fingers. Even John followed suit.
Unfortunately, Sunday came way too soon, and we had to say some difficult good-byes. Jess? Britton? You have no idea how much it meant to me (and I’m sure Molly, too) that you came to visit. Can’t wait til we see each other again. Love you both more than words.
xo,
Megan

I would like to correct the record. I believe I was the reigning champ in Apples to Apples. And I don't believe it was close! These pictures confirm that we are (1) nerds and (2) impossible to tame.
Thanks for the amazing weekend, everyone. I have never had 48 hours fly by as fast. I'm ready for our next trip already!
